Jagannath Sagadi delayed to today

Published on:

Shree Mandir servitors seemed to have turned opportunists on the beginning of Sagadi Yatra of lord Jagannath’s Daru from Kharipadia in Jagatsinghpur district to Puri, hurting sentiments of devotees. It is so conceived from the fact that statements by heads of different Daitapati groups don’t agree to each other. While Chief Badagrahi Jagannath Swaim Mohapatra had on Tuesday stated that the whole chaupata work would end on Tuesday night and Sagadi Yatra would start from Wednesday and would never be delayed as Thursday a unholy Masaanta day, now a statement made by Banajaga team head Haladhar Das Mohapatra and Daitapati Nijog head Ramkrushna Das Mohapatra state that there is no problem in starting the yatra on a Masaanta day. They described Masaanta as a holy day. Sources said various groups in Daitapati Nijog are not in good terms and making such statements to the media. They are also revengeful at each other.
