Separated conjoined twins Jaga and Kalia would be shifted from the AIIMS New Delhi to the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack soon, informed Health Minister Naba Kishore Das on Friday.
The Minister told reporters here that though it was earlier planned to shift the twins to the AIIMS Bhubaneswar, the authorities of this hospital are reluctant for it.
“The twins have been undergoing treatment at AIIMS New Delhi for the last two years. Their parents are desperate to get the kids shifted to Odisha. It has been decided to shift the twins to the SCB Hospital soon,” the Minister added. Notably, the Minister had earlier informed the State Assembly that the twins would be shifted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar once the hospital gives permission for it.
