The Vedanta Ltd., Jharsuguda’s CSR team and fire safety team collaborated to conduct a fire safety awareness for students in peripheral schools from December 7 to 20.
The objective was to impart and equip students and staff in schools with technical knowledge on preventing and combating fire.
More than 1,200 students and school staff from eight schools namely Buromal School, Debadihi High School, KGP High School Gudigaon, UGHS Siriapali, Chakradhar Birtia High School, Parmanpur, Banjari Project UP School, Bapuji Nodal High School Sripura and Panchayat High School Badmal were involved.
Led by Kulamani Mishra of Vedanta’s Fire Safety Department, the CSR team conducted sessions through interactive teaching methods, quizzes and practical demonstrations, including usage of fire extinguishers.
Abhijit Pati, CEO, Vedanta Ltd., Jharsuguda Cho Yiu Chan, HSE Head (Health, Safety and Environment), besides locals, hailed the efforts.
