The State Government is all set to start operations from the Jharsuguda Airport.

This was revealed at a high-level review meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi at the State Secretariat on Wednesday.

Padhi directed the Jharsuguda Collector and Superintendent of Police over videoconferencing to ensure infrastructural facilities within a week for smooth operation of the airport.

The review revealed that the infrastructural construction for phase-I operation of the airport is at the finishing point. The State Government has provided Rs 75 crore towards State share of the total capital expenditure of Rs 210 crore for the airport.

The routes like Bhubaneswar to Jharsuguda and Jharsuguda to Ranchi have been taken up for regional connectivity from this airport.

Further, it was proposed that shortly RCS-UDAN flights would start, for which State Government agreed to provide its share of subsidy for travelling public.
