Two ITI degree holders, who had been lured to get good placement in Dubai and had gone there by giving Rs 80,000 each, were allegedly tortured. After they managed to flee and reached here recently, they met the Rourkela SP to get justice.
The victim youths were identified as Amitabh Pradhan (24) and Anil Kumar Gauda (22) of Sector-7 area of steel township area. Both had come in contact with one Jitesh Kumar Rathod of civil township area. Jitesh had allegedly lured them to Dubai on the pretext of good placement.
They were asked to pay Rs 1.5 lakh each for job in llC company in Dubai at a monthly salary of Rs 25,000. Amitabh and Anil however had settled for Rs 80,000 each. The duo went to Dubai on July 8. After reaching there, the agent in Dubai allegedly told both of them that they have been sold to him and had started torturing them. Both were forced to clean toilet and were also told to clean house by broom. The duo could come to know that another 15 youths of other States in India were also there and they were being tortured. The agent in Dubai threatened Amitabh and Anil to pay Rs 1.20 lakh each to be made free.
The duo somehow managed to contact their family members and told them their plight in Dubai. The family members sent them ticket online and both managed to flee from Dubai without informing the agent.
Meanwhile, the agent in Dubai has been scolding them in filthy languages on their mobile and threatened that after coming to Rourkela, he would settle a score with them.
