Irregularities in pvt college lecturers' selection alleged

It’s been alleged that as the State Government recruits lecturers in Non-Government Aided Colleges through the Staff Selection Board (SSB) in haste, many eligible candidates are left behind from getting appointed.

At a Press meet held here on Wednesday, a section of such deprived candidates complained that there have been large-scale blunders in the advertisement published by the SSB. In the examinations, some faults were also found. The board does not provide the copy of the OMR sheet before the viva-voce.

“We also found questions from out of syllabus and even wrong questions sometimes. The time limit for the examination is also less in comparison to other competitive examinations,” said a candidate, Ranjan Kumar Sahoo. They also alleged that the merit list is prepared in a wrong process. Moreover, the officials don’t verify the documents properly before the viva-voce, said another candidate, Trinath Mallick.

The SSB has also not given any priority to the NET and JRF-qualified candidates.

The candidates threatened to stage a stir if the SSB does not stay the appointment of lecturers in Non-Government Aided College. Prakash Ranjan Sahoo, Chandrakanta Sahooo, Saroj Kumar Rath and Bimal Roul were present at the meet.
