The lahunipada police in Sundargarh district on Saturday arrested and court-forwarded a tipper owner for illegally carrying iron ore in the vehicle. Police also seized the tipper and about 10 metric tonne of iron ore.
Sources said a police team detained the tipper at Kaleiposh late on Friday night. During investigation, it was found that the tipper had loaded ores in Joda area and was going towards Rourkela. When asked, the driver couldn’t submit purchase documents against the loaded irone ores. Police soon took the driver and the tipper to the police station. On Saturday morning, owner of the tipper produced some papers to prove validity of his vehicle. But the documents were found fake.
The two were identified as Sukhwinder Singh (tipper owner) and Chandan Sharma (driver).
