Tension prevailed at the Sanskara Junior College at Baunsuni in the district on Saturday as students ransacked furniture and other properties of the college after being deprived of admit cards to appear at the Plus Two examinations.
Sources said that more than 50 students of the college had filled up application forms to appear at the examinations in the Arts stream. However, admit cards were not issued to them.
Students said they had earlier pleaded with the college Principal a number of times about the admit cards and he gave them assurance that they would get the cards in a day or two.
However, when the students went to the college on Saturday to meet the Principal again, they found the college locked and no staffs present. This infuriated them and they went on a rampage and smashed whatever that came on their way in the college premises.
