The Jami Hara Krushak Ekata Mancha at Paradip on Thursday called off its four-day-long agitation for a month as the IOCl authorities assured them of fulfilment of their nine-point charter of demands within a month.
The agitated farmers, who lost their lands for the IOCl project, were protesting against the apathetic attitude of the IOCl authorities for providing employment and other benefits meant for them.
Noted anti-industry leaders Abhay Sahoo and Narayan Reddy visited the protest site to give moral support to the farmers.
