INTUC leader and noted cooperator Harish Gaurang has submitted some “crucial” documents to the CBI in connection with the arbitrary nomination of Artha Tatwa (AT) Group chief Pradeep Sethy for the ‘Best Youth Cooperator Award’.
Gaurang, who was a member of the Odisha State Cooperative Union Governing Council when Sethy was nominated for the award, submitted a 43-page document to the CBI on Tuesday.“The Odisha State Cooperative Union Governing Council only selects the name for the Best Youth Cooperator Award. But Sethy was selected for the award without the knowledge of the council,” said Gaurang in a Press release.
Gaurang questioned how Sethy had been qualified for the Best Youth Cooperator Award while his agency’s registration had not even completed a week at that time.“The question is on what ground Sethy was selected for the award,” asked Gaurang, adding that he raised his voice at the council meeting which was also recorded. He alleged that Ranjan Kumar Das and others, who are strong supporters of Banki BJD MlA Pravat Triathy, had regularly intervened in the functioning of the society and were even spreading hooliganism. Society Secretary Tarakanta Panda and other officials also felt insecure for their rough behaviour, he further alleged.
