The Airport Authority of India (AAI) has made a proposal to the State Government for construction of a greenfield international airport at Khordha in future and there is no proposal to shift the Bhubaneswar airport now.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik informed this in the State Assembly in response to a question of BJD MlA Dehashis Nayak on Monday.
The Chief Minister mentioned that after the AAI Chairman made the proposal, a special AAI team visited the proposed area on March 14 and 15. However, they have not submitted any report of their visit. Required steps would be taken after availability of information, the Chief Minister said.
