: As per a call given by the Central Government PSU General Insurance Companies Employees’ Joint Forum, the Odisha unit held a demonstration here on December 14.
The demonstration was held in the regional offices of the four insurance companies during lunch hour including the Oriental Insurance Company, the National Insurance Company, the United India Insurance Company and the New India Assurance Company. The protestors raised slogans against the unilateral decision of the Union Finance Ministry and the GIPSA Management for implementation of KPI. They protested restructuring of companies set up, change of employees’ service conditions and benefits, individual performance linked wage revision with effect from 01.08.2022 and engagement of private agencies having no experience for restructuring of PSU companies without any accountability.
They pressed for demands like immediate enhancement/approval of 30% family pension, pension to all employees under Pension Act 1995 those who have joined on or after 01.04.2010 and deposit of management contribution of 14% in the NPS account of employees till they are covered under 1995 Pension Act. Shyam Sunder Mohapatra, Gajendranath Bar, Niranjan Parida, Surendranath Majhi, Manoj Kumar Moharana, Manish Mishra and Amrut Mallik among others addressed.
