'Instal CT scans, X-Ray in MKCG'

As per its earlier announcement, the Manav Adhikar Suraksha Manch on Tuesday held a rally from the main gate of the MKCG Medical College Hospital to the hospital Superintendent’s office demanding immediate installation of  CT scans and X-Ray machines and action against doctors who are neglecting duty.

Despite rains, a large number of activists participated in the rally. A representative team submitted a memorandum, addressed to the Chief Minister, before the Superintendent over their demands.

“While the CT scan and digital X-ray machines have been defunct for years now, steps have not been taken to repair or replace them. Similarly, hospital doctors are examining patients in private clinics during duty hours, but no action is being taken against them. The health services have been worsened in the MKCG,” alleged the agitators.

They too lamented saying that users’ fees being collected from poor patients are being paid to security guards instead of utilising the same for purchase of medicines and medical equipment. They threatened that the agitation would be intensified if demands are not met soon.

Among others, Abani Gaya, Prabhat Sarangi, Rajanikant Pradhan, Surjya Kant Patro, R Satyanarayan Rao, Maguni Nahak, Sarifun Nisha, Tarini Patro, Banshidhar Bhuyan and Rajendra Kumar Sahu participated.
