The Utkal Sammilani has demanded that the famous poetry canto of Santhakabi (saint poet) Bhima Bhoi, “Praninka Aarata Dukha Apramita, Dekhu Dekhu Keba Sahu; Mo Jeeban Pachhe Narke Padithau, Jagat Uddhaar Hehu”, be inscribed on walls of the State Assembly and all Government offices without delay.
The Sammilani’s Mancheswar Industrial Estate Branch made this demand on the auspicious occasion of Baisakha Purnima, the poet’s birthday, observed here on Wednesday.
“While this famous message of the great Odisha poet has been written on the walls of the United Nations and the Indian Parliament, it is yet to get due importance in our State. The lines should be inscribed in the State Assembly and all schools,” demanded Branch president Dillip Dashsharma.
Among others, vice-president Shital Chandra Mohanty, joint secretaries Bibhuti Bhushan Swain and Ashok Kumar Palatasingh and council members Er Shiba Prasad Mishra, Pratap Kumar Nanda, Girija Mohanty, Er Nalini Mohanty, Kshetra Mohan Nayak, Niranjan Patra, Dhiren Nath Dash and Akshaya Kumar Jethy attended the commemorative meeting.
