The Utkal Sammilani has demanded that the State Government ensure inscription of Santha Kabi Bhima Bhoi’s poem Praninka Aarata Dukha Apramita in all schools and Government offices in the State. At a memorial meeting organised by the body here on Saturday to mark the birth anniversary of the great poet, the Sammilani’s Mancheswar Industrial Estate branch decide to submit a proposal in this to the Chief Secretary.
Chairing the event, branch head Dillip Dashsharma said that while the moral preaching in the form of poem by the saint poet has found a place in the United Nations and in the Indian Parliament, it has not given due importance in the poet’s own State. Hence, though late, the poem should be inscribed in all Government offices and schools.
Among others, branch vice-president Sitala Chandra Mohanty, secretary Gobinda Chandra Subudhi and joint secretary Bibhuti Bhusan Swain were present.
