The horrifying scene of media vultures pouncing on Rhea Chakraborty as if she were a nabbed terrorist, while being ushered into the Narcotics Control Bureau interiors, has left the whole nation shocked.
More hurting is the fact that the lawbreaking media persons didn’t give a damn to the strictest Covid-19 guidelines to protect lives of the human species currently under attack from an uncontrollably virulent pathogen that has brought the entire world to a panicky standstill.
Mad, headless, huge walls of unruly media creatures were seen caving in on the frail, emaciated body of the girl not yet conclusively found guilty of anything.
The preliminary investigation has only begun.
Before the Mumbai police delved deeper, a strange hue and cry was heard from Sushant fans in Bihar who screamed hoarsely, ‘Rhea is the killer', as if they knew everything.
Worst of all, the Bihar police chief too joined the flailing chorus saying, 'Mumbai police is being biasedly lax to protect the killer girl'. The most horrific act was by the media covering the story day in and day out as if Sushant’s untimely death had brought the whole world crashing. The hyperactive social media is still going berserk with strangest of allegations and accusations.
All theories and angles were put up by the media super-brains to show Rhea was the killer. After Sushant’s unfortunate death, Indians have been forced to see, hear and read only two news items: Rhea the killer and consequences linked to coronavirus including infection and death figures.
All ghastly and frightening! Consequently, much more contentious and critical issues have been kicked to the garbage yard or swept under the carpet, some of them including livelihood issues and alarmingly diminishing industrial activities have been completely deleted from the agenda of most media agencies. Not surprisingly, big displeasure is being expressed constantly by thousands of serious Indians because the soul of Sushant has occupied all media space.
Even martyrs at the borders have been ignored particularly when the Sino-Indian standoff has been at a dangerous peak all this time.
It is absolutely true that Sushant's death under mysterious circumstances does need a thorough investigation since the outwardly-established suicide may have been a homicide as a consequence of a sinister conspiracy hatched by vested interests in the tinsel town.
But the media guys hounding a seemingly ‘not-guilty of murder' girl so ruthlessly is not an acceptable culture anywhere in the world.Diabolic stories and theories are slowly surfacing. Sushant is being exposed as having been a drug and narcotic substance user. Rhea who had been his live-in girl too has confessed to using drugs together with him.
So, the story is taking a confusing turn now: whether the boy inducted the girl into the drug culture or viceversa is extremely difficult to know at the present. They were all ‘drug individuals' though not exactly junkies.
Sushant is being projected as a guy worth crores of rupees along with a multi-crore luxury apartment which he could not have earned so quickly from the glamour world. There is some faint suspicion of his involvement with the drug mafia that burrow money at astronomical interest rates.
Rumour goes that ten million rupees if invested in the drug market can fetch twice the amount in only days, not even a full month. Apart from that, if one is a user-investor, anything can happen. Trust investment can sometimes go bad if the drug route is intercepted by enforcement, netting middlemen including peddlers thereby tracking down big users.
If Rhea is made out to be a horrible woman, the man may have been party to all shady and illegal deals because both planned many things together. Towards the last days, they fell out; but who was right and who wrong has not been clearly known yet.
In all likelihood, Sushant was a saint, but that Rhea was a witch is not proven until now. So, the media guys' merciless act of pouncing on Rhea when she was in the worst mental state is unforgivably reprehensible.
All the erring media persons remain locked in the camera frames. They have to be booked under law and punished exemplarily. If the common folks are being mercilessly beaten by police for gathering in public places, not wearing masks or not maintaining social distance, there is no reason why insane media people should go scot-free for merrily violating the lifesaving guidelines. Holding Rhea alone responsible for all the ills is wrong. The law courts alone can decide who is guilty and who innocent. Until then, Rhea deserves decent treatment from all, most importantly media guys.
Similarly, there are two very interesting though disturbing cases now raging Odisha. Social worker Aditya reportedly killed himself under a running train. His newly-married wife is looked down as the prime suspect and so undergoing harrowing times.
A girlfriend has shown up as the beloved of the deceased. Wife alleges the girlfriend provoked Aditya to kill himself. Her sympathisers term her a psychic wreck and lay all blames on her. This failed girl says she was indeed in mad love, but Aditya ditched her at the last moment. She has now openly challenged detractors by filing an FIR for damaging her public image. Police are clueless until this moment. Lastly, an Odia movie actor couple has spilled all rotten beans in public and the matter has landed in the law courts. The man Anubhav is a popular actor-politician and his wife Varsha is equally adored by public for her looks and skills.
Wife is without a parental home as her single ‘parent mother' died recently; and her sibling is not willing to mediate. Varsha says she is only fighting to bring back the “errant and spoilt” husband to track, right from her husband’s home where she stays even today.
She has been forced to file a case against husband for domestic violence. Husband is seeking divorce. People are utterly confused because wife has been provided police security at her torturing husband’s house. As the world is going madder during the most difficult corona war, God, the creator, perhaps is planning various lessons to teach humanity through a variety of dramatic events around the globe.
