An injured female deer, which had been recovered from the Konark-Puri marine drive near the Chndrabhaga helipad here, died on Thursday.
According to sources, a vehicle had hit the deer while it was crossing the road. Konark Range Officer Prafulla Kumar Mohnaty said the two front legs of the deer were fractured along with injuries in her backside. The animal was under treatment in the rescue centre of the Forest Department Office.
As the marine drive road is crossing through the nearby sanctuary, repeatedly these types of incidents are happening, he added.
