The State Cabinet on Tuesday took a decision to construct Integrated Infrastructure Complexes (IICs) in all 30 districts in a phased manner as per the 5T action plan.

In the first phase, 10 IICs are taken up for construction, out of which nine IICs i.e. Khordha, Cuttack,       Puri, Kandhamal, Sambalpur, Bhadrak, Malkangiri, Ganjam and Nabaarangpur are funded from State Budget and one Integrated Infrastructure Complex (Sundargarh) out of District Mineral Fund (DMF).

The remaining eight DMF districts would take up construction of IICs out of DMF expeditiously. Construction of IICs in remaining 12 districts would be taken up in second phase starting from financial year 2022-23. The IICs would be upgraded as "Centres of Excellence" which would include old age home, home for the destitute, physiotherapy centre, medical unit, rehabilitation centre and special schools for visually impaired, hearing Impaired and those with intellectual disabilities.  The IICs would have adequate sports facility, cultural centre and other extracurricular facilities for overall development of kids with special needs and also for senior citizens.
