The CSR and CD Committee of the Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UCCI) organised a seminar titled, ‘Role of Corporate Sectors on CSR Initiative’ here on Wednesday.Odisha Khadi and Village Industries Board president Tejeswar Parida and JSPl (CC and CSR) vice-president Prasant Hota graced the occasion as guests.
UCCI president Ramesh Mohapatra presided over the meeting. Committee chairperson Geeta Padhi, vice-president Prabhakar Rout and UCCI member Brajendra Mishra shared the dais. JSPl VP Hota elaborated on the social activities undertaken by the JSPl plant at Angul and also spoke on the role and responsibilities of a corporate sector towards the society.
In his speech, Parida said corporate houses play a vital role in effecting development in backward areas through their CSR activities. He said such discussions on CSR activities should be held on a regularly basis. UCCI honourary secretary Debabrata Dash proposed a vote of thanks.
