Industrialist Trailokya Mishra’s son Sabyasachi Mishra, was arrested on Friday by the Mahila police on charges of harassing his wife lopamudra Mishra.
lopamudra has also alleged of receiving death threats from her husband and in-laws.
Sabyasachi was arrested from his residence at Kharvel Nagar here, after the interim protection period provided by the Orissa High Court got over. Besides, a bail application filed by him was rejected by the court. Sources said Sabyasachi will be forwarded to the court on the day.
Notably, the Orissa High Court had granted an interim protection to Sabyasachi and his family from arrest in July, 2016.
However, Sabyasachi refuted the allegations of his wife and said to the mediapersons he was married 13 years back. If he was torturing her how come she has levelled allegations after 13 years of their marriage. He further said ‘marriage has become a business’ and lord Jagannath is witness to his innocence.
lopamudra speaking to the media said her husband and his family besides being affluent were very well-connected. They had threatened her number of times and she did not have the support of her family to protest. She tried desperately to save her marriage but when things got unbearable, she approached the police. She levelled several serious allegations against her husband and the in-laws. She thanked Commissioner of Police YB Khurania for taking action in her case.
