Industrialist Trailokya Mishra, his wife and son are facing a charge of dowry harassment and wife swapping with his son Sabyasachi Mishra’s wife lopamudra Mishra lodging a complaint at the Mahila police station here. The complaint came to light on Tuesday after the victim sought intervention of media due to the dillydallying attitude of the police.
The victim coming out in the open for the first time, revealed that though she had filed a complaint in this regard with the Mahila police a few months ago, nothing tangible has happened as yet.
As per the complaint filed, lopamudra had married Sabyasachi in 2006. However, after marriage, Sabyasachi allegedly tortured her physically and mentally. Moreover, lopamudra has mentioned of being beaten by Sabyasachi.
“From the date of my marriage I am being victimised. Even my husband forced me for wife swapping during our honeymoon in Port Blair. When I opposed it, he beat me mercilessly,” said lopamudra.
“Whenever I sought the help of my father-in-law and mother-in-law in this regard, they told me that such thing happens in a rich family,” she alleged.
“Now, I am getting threat calls from my in-laws. I need protection,” said lopamudra, adding that she was deprived of any financial assistance from her in-laws even as her son is studying at the SAI International School.
“A case has been registered with the Mahila police. The investigating officer is probing the matter, and all the concerned officials have been asked to expedite the case. We are doing an impartial probe of the matter and will take action based on the material evidences,” said Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrata Bhoi.
