The second edition of Industrial Jurisprudence: A Critical Commentary, authored by XIMB Professor Dr EM Rao was unveiled by Xavier University Vice-Chancellor Fr Paul Fernandes at a function held here on Tuesday.
The book is a treatise on labour law with an in-depth analysis of Indian judicial trends on the principles of jurisprudence such as rights, powers, duties, liabilities, immunities, etc, and the canons of statutory construction.
The work is the first of its kind in the world so far as its nature of coverage of the labour law is concerned. The author has subjected several important decisions of High Courts and the Supreme Court to critical analysis with reference to judicial precedents and also the international trends prevailing, particularly, in the UK, USA and Australia.
