A rheumatology care centre, joint venture of Indo – Swedish doctors at Chandmaripadia in the Sahadevkhunta area, was inaugurated recently.
The centre, established under Shakuntala Foundation, would be managed by Dr Rabinarayan Das and Swedish doctor Prof Urban Rydholm, the chairperson of Swedish chapter of the foundation.
“Many people continue to suffer due to old age aliments such as joint pains. This centre would provide the much needed treatment to the people suffering from rheumatism. Initially, we will be only providing treatment, advice and medicine, while subsequently surgery facility will be made available.
The centre would work as non-profit entity. Old people from the district as well neighbouring areas can avail the benefit of the centre,” said Dr Das.
Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) Dr Anup Ghosh and noted poet Dr Brajanath Rath were among others present during the inauguration evening. A cultural programme jointly by the artists of Sweden and Baleswar was held. Anita Rath offered vote of thanks.
