The Indian culture is losing its value by the day and it is high time to protect it by spreading spiritualism among the people, said Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat while addressing a function organised by the Sanskruti Suraksha Samiti (SSS) here on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan on Sunday.
Speaking on the significance of Raksha Bandha, the RSS chief also stressed on the need for security and development of the country and stated that consciousness on these two obligations among the general public would influence the country’s leaders as well as unite the people.
By this, the country can lead the world and show path during the time of crisis.
Elaborating on this, Bhagwat also stressed on the protection of forest, water, land, food, border, economy and trade for the nation’s development. Attending the function as the guest of honour, former Vice-Chancellor of Fakir Mohan University Prof Kumarbar Das said the country is grappling with several crises, including cultural, social and relationship crises.
He underlined the need for inculcating a spirit of nationalism or Hinduism by fighting the Western mindset.
The event, held under the chairmanship of social activist Baikunthanath Sahoo, was also attended by Surakha Samiti president Dr Sanjit Panda and social activist Gopal Panigrahi, among others.
