A youth of Nuagaon panchayat in Kalahandi district reportedly consumed poison after being heartbroken over India’s defeat in the ICC Cricket World Cup semi-final in England on Wednesday night.
His family members spotted him lying in an unconscious state at a farmland and rushed him to the Dharmagarh Sub-Divisional hospital. He was later shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital here after his condition deteriorated.
The youth had been claiming that India would not only thrash New Zealand in the semifinal but would also win the World Cup final.
