Even though the road connecting Rahania to Shrikrushnapur under Cuttack district’s Mahanga tehsil has been fully damaged, lackadaisical attitude of concerned Government officers in taking up construction work has only added to the woes of locals.
The road project under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) had started a year back and was targeted to be completed by March 2015. Though six months have passed from deadline, the work is yet to be completed.
“The Bl Construction Company which has undertaken the work and the departmental officers are not at all concerned about the roads,” alleged locals.
Due to bad roads, people of Kalianti, Usuma, Dharapur, Rahania, Mogalpatna, Salara, Pasunda, Malihata, Raghunath Nagar and Gokulpur are facing a lot of problems as it is very difficult for buses, 108 Ambulances, Fire Brigades and common vehicles to run on this main link road.
local have demanded that concerned higher authorities take their plights seriously and direct executing officers to complete the road construction works as soon as possible.
