Rourkela BJP MlA Dilip Ray called on Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday in New Delhi and had a discussion on wide gamut of issues.
Ray expressed his happiness over the selection of two cities of the State, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, for inclusion in the City Gas Distribution Network in the Wednesday’s decision of the Central Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs regarding development of the Jagdishpur-Haldia & Bokaro-Dhamra Gas pipeline and the benefits to be accrued to Odisha.
Ray submitted a memorandum to Pradhan urging him to include Rourkela, which has recently been declared a Smart City, in the Gas pipeline project which could facilitate its inclusion in the City Gas Distribution Network (CGDN) and people can access easy and cheap gas supply as a result of the city's inclusion in the CGDN. Besides, laying of the pipeline en route the JHBDPl would trigger industrial development in and around Rourkela engendering employment and economic opportunities for people, added Ray
Ray is hopeful that the Minister will make a holistic appraisal of his proposal and take the necessary steps in the interest of Rourkela.
