The Junior Red Cross wing of the Indian Red Cross Society, State Branch (IRCS-OSB) observed the Teacher’s Day at the Red Cross Bhavan here on Friday. Several teachers-cum-junior Red Cross counsellors from different schools of Bhubaneswar, Rajsunakhala and Cuttack participated in the programme.

Inaugurating the programme, Board of Secondary Education Director Sanatan Mallik stressed that education is more important than qualification. Thus, counsellors and teachers should play a vital role in building socially responsible persons in the society. “The Humanitarian Service should be included in the academic syllabus of every faculty,” he added.
