Pradesh Congress Committee president Prasad Harichandan on Monday alleged that the State Government has implemented the National Food Security Act (NFSA) by excluding 90 lakh beneficiaries from the first-phase list.
Addressing a Press conference here, Harichandan said the State Government has not only delayed the NFSA implementation but has excluded 90 lakh deserving beneficiaries form the list prepared in 14 districts during the first phase.
“The list is not at all error-free,” he alleged, demanding that the Government take steps to include these beneficiaries at the earliest.
Reacting to BJD MlA Pramila Mallik’s ‘Amaar ladoo’ comment on farmers’ suicide, Harichandan said Mallik’s statement is ‘unfortunate’.
“The statement (Amaar ladoo) is nothing but an expression of sadistic pleasure of the BJD women wing president,” Harichandan said.
He too slammed the State Government for not implementing the report of the Farmer Commission since it was submitted in 2012. The State Government has totally failed in resolving farmer problems, he alleged further.
He informed that the Congress would hold its third phase Padayatra on November 21 from Manoharpur to Salepur of Cuttack district andNovember 30 from Adapada to Sankhemundi in Ganjam district.
