Pramod Bhagat excited as he meets Tendulkar
Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Pramod Bhagat, who made the entire nation proud by clinching Gold medal in the Tokyo Paralympics in badminton men’s singles SL3, expressed immense happiness after he met cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar in Mumbai took selfie with him on Wednesday. He described the meeting as a childhood dream coming true. “As a kid, I took inspiration from Sir Sachin Tendulkar for always being positive and motivated,” wrote Bhagat on Instagram.

Bhubaneswar: The Tata Motors handed over its Altroz cars each to Deep Grace Ekka and Namita Toppo, who represented India from Odisha in the Women’s Hockey at the Tokyo Olympics. The handover ceremony was held at Rourkela.
Man dies after coming under truck wheels
Jagatsinghpur: In a tragic road mishap that occurred at Tarikunda Chhak on Cuttack-Jagatsinghpur NH 55 on Tuesday night, a middle-aged man died on the spot. The deceased was identified as Dilip Kumar Swain hailing from Kalyananagar in Cuttack. He was returning to Cuttack on his bike when a gas cylinder-laden truck hit him from behind. Swain fell down on the road and his head was crushed under the truck’s rear wheels.
Vedanta holds farmers’ empowerment camp
Jharsuguda: A three-day livelihood empowerment camp organised at Seriapalli, Gudigaon and Kelendamal under CSR programme of the Vedanta was completed on Thursday. Farmers were trained on organic farming. The camp had started on September 6 with agriculture scientist Raghunath Hota joining as chief guest and Seva secretary Susil Das as guest of honour. Project manager Kanhu Mishra gave welcome address and project coordinator Kulamani Bariha gave vote of thanks.
