Stray dogs chase away bear in Nilgiri town
BALESWAR: A wild bear was chased away by stray dogs in Nilgiri town on Wednesday night and the scene was captured on a mobile camera by a biker who caught sight of the event while returning home. Meanwhile, the video footage has gone viral in social media.Reports said the wild bear had strayed from Swarnachuda hill into the town and was found mooching near Katchery market Durga Mandap. After seeing the bear, a pack of dogs chased the bear away from the town. The bear too was unable to face the attacking dogs and again ran into the reserve forest. It is assumed that since frequent fires in the Nilgiri and Kudhia forests are destroying the wildlife habitats and disturbing them, they are sneaking into human habitations for safety and search of foods. This has given rise to man-animal conflicts in recent time.
