Nabarangpur: Nabarangpur MLA Sadasiba Pradhani and his wife have tested positive for Covid-19. He has requested all those who have come in his contact in last couple of days to isolate themselves and get the test done.

Plantation drive in forefathers’ memory
Bhubaneswar: The Sukshmeshwar Barishhta Nagarika Committee undertook a plantation drive near the Sukshmeshwar Pond at Samantrapur Padagaya here in the memory of forefathers on the occasion of Pitrupaksha on Monday. Cong distributes sarees to floods-hit families
Jharsuguda: Senior Congress leaders visited 19 mouzas affected by floods under Lakhanpur block in Jharsuguda district and provided assistance. The members led by former Union Minister Bhakta Charan Das and PCC executive president Pradeep Majhi visited villagers under the Chikhili, Mahudi, Saradha and Kandheikela gram panchayats and distributed clothes and sarees to affected families. Party leaders Mahendra Nayak, Fakir Nayak, Sanjay Mohapatra, Subrat Pradhan, Jhumer Pradhan, Mahendra Pradhan and Lingaraj Badhei were present, among others.
Sanjeevani finds wonder kid in Sunabeda
Koraput: A two-and-a-half-year-old boy, Spandan Kumar Upadhyaya (Chiku), of Sunabeda in Koraput district is found to be a wonder kid. He can recognise national flags of 108 countries without delay. He was traced in the “Tiny Talent Contest”, organised by the Sanjeevani. His talent’s 5-minute video, prepared by his parents Shiv Kumar Birtia and Namtra Mishra, has attracted likes and comments from different sections of people in the social media. He would be awarded on the upcoming Gandhi Jayanti by the Sanjeevani.
Driver dies, 2 hurt as truck overturns
Nabarangpur: The driver was killed and two other persons were seriously injured when a ice-laden truck turned turtle at Chandahandi under Jharigaon block in Nabarangpur district on Wednesday.
Huge banded krait rescued in Mayurbhanj
Baripada: A huge banded krait (Rana snake) was rescued from a villager’s garden in Mayurbhanj district on Wednesday. The reptile was more than eight-feet-long and over 15-year-old. Purna Mohapatra of Badakaranjia village under the Khunta police limits spotted the snake on the wood barricades of his garden. Snake catcher Krushna Gochhayat rescued the krait and released it into the Similipal forest.
