Ex-MP Mallick passes away
Jajpur: Former Jajpur MP Ramachandra Mallick died at the age of 85 on Wednesday in a private hospital in Bhubaneswar. He had been elected in 1962, 1977 and 1998 as a Congress candidate. Former Minister Prafulla Chandra Ghadai, Bari MLA Debashis Nayak, Sukinda MLA Pritirajnan Ghadai and Binjharpur MLA Pramila Mallick condoled his death.
OLM gets nat’l award for financial inclusion
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Livelihood Mission (OLM) received first award for successful implementation of the National Rural Livehood Mission’s financial inclusion for the year of 2017-18 under Din Dayal Antodyoya programme. OLM Director Smruti Ranjan Pradhan received the award from Rural Development Minister Narendra Singh Tomar at a programme held in New Delhi on Thursday. Financial Inclusion includes providing bank loans to SHGs, delivering banking services in rural areas and conducting financial literacy programme.

Bhubaneswar: Senior journalist and ‘Unnati Pathe’ editor Pradyumna Kumar Mohanty was felicitated by Finance Minister Shashi Bhushan Behera and ‘Sambad’ editor Soumya Ranjan Patnaik at the National Media Expo-2018 organised here jointly by the Utakal Journalists Association and the Bhubaneswar Media Forum held here recently. UJA president Bibhuti Bhushan Kar and forum chairman Pradeep Kumar Shah and general secretary Papu Mohanty were present.
