A woman employee of the Ranpur College in the district has alleged torture by two lecturers of the college and demanded stringent action against the accused.
The woman lodged an FIR in this connection on Friday at the Ranpur police station. However, no arrests have been made so far.
The accused duo was identified as Harekrushna Mohapatra and Chandrakant Paikaray. According to police, the woman who works as a Junior Clerk in the college was allegedly physically and mentally tortured by the two lecturers.
In the complaint, the woman has stated that she had reported the matter to the college Principal, who said that an internal committee would be formed to probe the allegation. However, after waiting for over a week when no action was taken against the accused, she finally filed a complaint with police. On the basis of the complaint, a case has been registered and investigation is on, police said.
