A woman, identified as Nandini Rana (20), was allegedly poisoned to death by her in-laws in Ramagiri under Ramgiri Police Station of Gajapati district on Wednesday.
Nandini was admitted in serious condition at the Ramgiri CHC on Wednesday morning, but she died there. Dr Manmaya Padhi of the hospital said the death occurred due to poisoning. Nandini's father Ananda Pradhan of Kidingi village in Kasinagar block lodged an FIR accusing his son-in-law and his family members of murdering his daughter. Three years back his daughter married to the accused, police said. Nandini’s husband Sukant Rana is a contractor. He allegedly used to torture her and often have heated arguments with her over domestic matters.
