The Khordha district administration on Saturday suspended three Village Level Workers (VLWs) for their alleged involvement in irregularities in construction of houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) in Podadihi village under Begunia block.
District Collector SK Rout placed Narayan Jena, Jayadeb Subuddhi and Kedar Behera under suspension. This apart, he issued show-cause notices to Begunia BDO Rabi Narayan Majhi and ABDO Mahendra Jena.
When charges had been made regarding irregularities in implementation of the PMAY in Podadihi, the district administration ordered an inquiry. The administration took the disciplinary action after getting the inquiry report.
Earlier, the Collector had suspended a Panchayat Extension Officer on similar charges.
