B’pur St Vincent’s School holds Teachers’ Day
Brahmapur: The St Vincent’s Convent School here celebrated the Teachers’ Day in its premises on Thursday. Brahmapur MP Chandra Sekhar Sahu and MLA Bikram Panda attended as guests and felicitated the ICSE-2019 school toppers securing more than 95 per cent of marks. They exhorted the students to brace themselves to take on the competitive world and stand out among the rest by carving out a niche for themselves. Among others, school Principal Monthie and Vice-Principal Beena were present. The students, in a cultural programme through their scintillating performances, cheered up the teachers.
Teachers’ Day at Danagadi: 30 teachers felicitated
Jajpur: The Bikash Pariaad at Danagadi celebrated Teachers’ Day on Thursday. Chief guest MLA Pritiranajn Ghadai said teachers play a vital role in shaping the future generation of the society. On the occasion, the Bikash Parisad felicitated 30 teachers for their meritorious services.
State weightlifting meet in B’pur from Sep 8
Brahmapur: The Ganjam Weightlifting and Wrestling Association is going to organise two-day State-level weightlifting competition here on September 8 and 9 in which more than 150 athletes from 12 districts would participated. This was informed by association president Kumud Chandra Sahu in a meeting here on Thursday. He also said about 30 athletes from Ganjam district would participate. Among others, Narayan Sahu, Sachidananda Dash, Rabi Rath, Gagarin Nayak, Jagya Narayan Nanda, Udaynath Sethi, coaches Ramesh Chandra Sahu, Bishnupriya Nayak, Jagannath Nayak, Dandapani Sahu and Sita Jena were present.
