A youth was attacked with acid allegedly by two persons over past enmity in Angul district on Friday evening. The victim, identified as Kuna Behera, a resident of Pipalbahal in the Chhendipada area of the
district, was admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital in a critical condition.
According to sources, Kuna was targeted by two youths of his village while he was going to his house after alighting from a bus in the evening.
The two assailants, identified as Kalia Sethi and Bijay Sethi, who are siblings, threw acid at Kuna allegedly over a past enmity with an intent to disfigure his body.
The victim suffered burn injuries in his face, neck, chest and most of the other parts of his body.
