Kalinga Nagar DAV observes Sports Day
Bhubaneswar: The DAV, Kalinga Nagar here observed the National Sports Day amidst much enthusiasm on Thursday. The school organised a mini marathon in which over 300 students, parents and alumni took part and ran for respectful memory of Indian hockey wizard Major Dhyan Chand. International Chess Grand Master Padmini Rout flagged off the race. School Principal Bipin Kumar Sahoo recounted the incredible talent of Dhyan Chand and highlighted his lasting contribution to Indian hockey in particular and to the world of games and sports in general. A skating show was also presented by the students. The winners of the mini marathon were felicitated.
Blossoms School celebrates Sports Day
Bhubaneswar: The Blossoms School here observed the National Sports Day on Thursday with great enthusiasm. The morning exercises conducted in the assembly marked the opening of a daylong celebration. School Principal Seemita Panda addressed the students and talked about the importance and the origination of the day. Few students also put forward their ideas and opinions about sports and its importance in students’ lives. Special tributes were paid to Major Dhyan Chand as the day is celebrated to mark his birth anniversary. The celebration ended with a friendly cricket match among the senior students of the school.
