Concerned over delays in steel projects including those of Posco and ArcelorMittal in Odisha costing USD 12 billion each, an Inter-Ministerial Group (IMG) of the Centre is likely to come out with suggestions to fast-track them on Monday.
The IMG would take up the issues impeding the projects including the delay in the grant of environment clearances, said official sources. The agenda includes steps for revalidation of environment clearance to the Posco project and grant of mining leases to the ArcelorMittal project, they added.
The other projects to be reviewed by the IMG include the Tata Steel’s Kalinga Nagar venture and the Bhushan Steel’s project in the State.
