IMD forecasts heavy rain in north Odisha

Published on:

The Regional Office of India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday predicted heavy rainfall in north Odisha during the next 48 hours as a depression has formed over the North Bay of Bengal. The wind speed during the rains is likely to be around 40 km per hour.

The Met Department warned the fishermen to be careful while venturing into the sea. Meanwhile, the State Government has issued directions to the district Collectors of the northern region to remain alert. Already, incessant rains from July 15 have caused floods in a number of southern districts. The rains have also left many areas of the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar waterlogged.
