A joint eviction team consisting of officials from the BDA, the BMC and the Commissionerate Police demolished unauthorised constructions over OWSSB land at Baragada here on Monday to construct Pumping Station.
During the eviction drive, a total of 20 tin-sheeted buildings and two thatched houses were demolished. The land was acquired by the OWSSB for construction of Pumping Station for Sewerage Treatment Plant.
Three excavators of the BDA and the OWSSB were engaged for the eviction drive.
BDA Enforcement Officer Pramod Patro, BDA liaison Officer Subhransu Sekhar Mohanty, Zone ACP PC Badajena, Baragada IIC Suvendu Sinha, OWSSB Project Engineer VC Dalai were present during the demolition. A platoon of gents APR Force and a Section lady Force were engaged at the site to maintain law and order.
