As part of the State Government’s ongoing efforts to make the Regional Transport Offices (RTOs) free from corruption and middlemen, several unauthorised structures near the Bhubaneswar RTO-II campus were demolished on Tuesday.
In a joint drive by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) and the Commissionerate police, 16 kiosks and temporary shacks, which had come up illegally near the RTO-II, were demolished.
During the eviction drive, nine cabins, six temporary structures and fast food shops which had come up in the last two to three years were razed.
