Illegal liquor trade rampant: Umarkote admin silent

Published on:

Illegal sale of liquor is making the life of people miserable here as some liquor traders manufacture and sell country made liquor without caring for the law enforcement authority.

The economically poor are adversely affected as liquor is being sold in petty shops and provision stores in the villages. Even common people are selling liquor bottles from their houses and running distilleries by assimilating different poisonous chemicals hazardous to human consumption.

The officials of the Excise and the Police Departments remain blind-folded to the facts due to a nexus with the illegal liquor traders, alleged some villagers of Chadeiguda. They further alleged though they made a complaint with the authorities, but no action has been taken yet.

The environment of the village is severely affected and if this illegal sale of liquor persists here, there would be a big hooch tragedy which in past had thrilled the State, said social activist Ram Nayak.
