A rally was held at Parikhed village in Sogarpasi gram panchayat under Dhenkanal Sadar Police Station, demanding closure of an illegal liquor shop in the house of one Abhaya Hota under leadership of Odsha Mahila Mahasangha president Debashisha Hota.
Hundreds of youths and women actively participated in the rally along with Mahasangha secretary Dillip Samal, Dalit Sangha founder Arun Malik, Govind Malik, Sridhar Malik, Mathura Naik, Dambaru Naik, Ranjan lenka, Nilamani Kabi, Dhaneswar Rout, Sukanta Naik, Srikanta Behera, Chakradhar Sandha and Dandadhar Dehury.
Meanwhile, a police squad led by Dhenkanal Sadar IIC Gyana Ranjan Samal and Tarava Outpost In-charge Paramananda Nayak seized the liquor shop in the house and assured that no further sale of liquor would take place there.
