Mubeen Masoudi, an IIT Mumbai alumnus and son of B A Masoudi, GM (F&A), SAIl, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), is busy shaping the lives of many young minds of Kashmir, thus playing a defining role in the transformation of the society.

Mubeen, who completed his BTech in Civil Engineering in the year 2011 from the IIT, Mumbai with flying colours, has been mentoring and giving educational support to the students of the valley to successfully pursue their academic goals.

In the valley, which mostly remains in the news for reasons of turbulence, Mubeen has become a torchbearer for the pursuit of knowledge.  He has been contributing relentlessly by imparting education to the youths and helping them integrate into the mainstream.

To achieve his laudable mission, Mubeen didn’t even hesitate to sacrifice his lucrative job with a leading MNC. He started a mentoring and counselling institute namely ‘RISE’ in Srinagar, aiming to provide educational opportunities for high school students of Kashmir.

The institute offers coaching for JEE Mains, BITSAT and is also working with schools in order to streamline their teaching methods. The institute also offers free educational support to underprivileged kids from the valley.

His endeavour ensured the selection of four students from the valley to the premier technical Institutes of India - the IITs. Besides, 32 students, with his guidance also succeeded in taking admission in NITs - a rare achievement considering the conditions in the valley which are not at all conducive to education.

Mubeen has been busy building a sustainable institute through which he wants to develop a unique culture in the valley, where the young people will prioritize education above everything else.

Mubeen has a strong belief that education is a strong tool only through which can the Kashmiri youths can be connected with the mainstream. It is noteworthy that Mubeen has also been selected for the leadership training modules organized by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sweden.

Mubeen is one of the 31 future leaders chosen from SAARC nations on full scholarship for an intercultural leadership programme called ‘Young Connectors of the Future (YCF), Swedish Institute, Stockholm (2016 - 2017)’. He was shortlisted on the basis of the activities conducted by him over the last four years in education sector in Kashmir. Mubeen was trained on leadership, team building, collaboration and self-awareness by experts from across Europe during September 2016 and would be further invited for Module II in February 2017.  Mubeen has proved beyond doubt that if one has the will and the vision then sky is the limit.
