The locals of Samalaipadar panchayat under Bijepur block of Bargarh district have submitted a grievance petition against a woman official for taking bribe to pass bill and work order of IHHL.
They alleged that she was taking bribe Rs 100 to Rs 2,000 per beneficiary for passing the bill and issuing work order.
They complained that those who failed were deprived of sum assured under the scheme or their bills were not cleared for a long time.
In this connection, villagers Arakshita Panda, Dibakar Bhue, Sudam Padhan and Dolamani Pradhan among others submitted the petition with the Executive Engineer RWSS Division and urged for an investigation into the matter, besides action against the accused.
