BSF 151 Battalion personnel on Tuesday detected an improvised explosive device (IED) suspected to be planted by Maoists at Boipariguda in Koraput district..
The road opening party of the BSF’s Mantraim COB during checking for explosives found some unusual changes ( fresh digging of earth) between Mantriam and Govindpalli on the National Highway-329 and searched the area with help of mines detector and sniffer dog.
As per direction of the COB Commandant the total area was secured by sending more troops and again thorough search was conducted and an IED was detected.
Later, the bomb disposal squad was roped in and the IED was diffused successfully. It is suspected that the IED was planted by Red rebels to target the security forces.
