'Idco Electronic Cluster proposal deficient'

Published on:

The proposed greenfield Electronic Manufacturing Cluster at Khordha is yet to get Central approval as the Idco is yet to submit required compliance report for the proposal.

Communications and Information Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad informed this in the Rajya Sabha in response to a question of BJD member Narendra Kumar Swain recently.

Swain had wanted to know why the proposal of the Odisha Government was pending in the department and when the decks would be clear for the project.

“The department had received a final application for setting up of Greenfield Electronics Manufacturing Cluster at Khordha by the Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation ltd (Idco). But the application was found deficient in compliance with the requirements as per guidelines. Details relating to financial capability of the proposed units and Consent to Establish (CTE) were found lacking. Despite repeated reminders the Idco has not yet complied with the deficiencies,” the Minister said and added that necessary steps would be taken on receipt of the compliance report.
