The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Friday sealed the Indradhanu (ID) Market, one of the major markets in the State capital, for 24 hours for violation of Covid-19 guidelines. So, as weekend shutdown is in force in all urban areas across the State, the ID Market would remain shut for three consecutive days starting from Friday. “The market was sealed for gross violation of Covid protocols,” informed the BMC Zonal Deputy Commissioner, South-West Zone. On Thursday, the BMC had sealed the Reliance Trends, a garment showroom, at Saheed Nagar after many of its staffs tested positive for the virus. Earlier on April 28, the BMC had sealed various markets, including the Market Building, VSS Nagar market and several shops in different parts of the city for violation of Covid protocols.
